But, what do you do when you're unemployed? Well, if you're me, you're still working!
Perhaps you don't get paid for all of your work, but you certainly spend most of the hours during the work day being productive. Whether you're trying to find a job or working on building a business and getting to the point when you won't have to depend on a potential employer for your livelihood, hopefully you're spending your days in a productive manner.
So when my almost 10-year old daughter, Alison, asked if she could spend "Take your child to work day" with me, I realized that it would be a good idea to show her what I do all day.
Since I'm not on Air America this week, I'm working on the Radio or Not podcast and blog, and working toward my goal of launching an actual internet radio station.
Although there's lots to talk about today (did you see or hear about the Levin Report? We'll delve into it tomorrow...), I figured Alison and I would join forces for today's podcast. Yes, the topic is "Take Your Child to Work Day."
I put Alison to work first thing this morning by telling her to do a little research on the day. She was my interview subject, and also consulted on the music and editing of today's show.
We both hope you'll enjoy today's Radio or Not episode... the first joint production of Nicole and Alison Sandler! Click here to listen to it (runtime 9:21)

Alison,
You were great on your mom's podcast today.
Nicole,
As I am trying to build my own business you are very inspirational.
May we both be successful.
Thanks.
