I just finished up my show, filling in for Thom Hartmann on Air America. It was an honor, privilege, and the most fun I've had with my clothes on in a very long time.
Thank you to all who called, emailed, checked out my blog, and- most importantly- listened!
I will blog about it and podcast some of the audio over the weekend. But I did want to share some info and links with you.
First... the reason Thom wasn't on today was that he is in Los Angeles for a few events. If you're in LA, you can see him at 7pm for speaking and book signing at the Democratic Party Headquarters -San Fernando Valley (DPSFV - http://www.dpsfv.com/ - for more info) 14529 Archwood Van Nuys, CA 91405 (818) 995-DEMS.
On Sunday, Thom will participate in a debate from 2p-4p, at American Jewish University, Bel Air CA Gindi Auditorium. To register, call 310-440-1246. Participants Allan Stolk from Las Vegas, Bill Handel from L.A. Stephanie Miller (national show) and Thom Hartmann (national show) ($25 entrance fee).
And, if your tv can get the Fox News Channel without blowing up, you can see Thom appear tomorrow afternoon at 4:20 eastern!
Today's show included a conversation with Melissa Etheridge! We talked about her new album, an event she's doing in Cleveland Wednesday for and with Dennis and Elizabeth Kucinich, as well as life in general... and what is possible! Check out this amazing performance from the Democratic Convention in Denver:
In hour 2, I spoke with Ion Sancho, Leon County FL Supervisor of Elections, who is an authority on what's wrong with the way we vote in the US. He's featured in both documentaries Hacking Democracy, which is on HBO this month, and a new one, Stealing America: Vote by Vote, both of which are required viewing... asap!
We continued talking about the dangers of this election being stolen, as the last two presidential elections were, in the third hour today. Investigative journalist Greg Palast joined me to talk about the comic book, documentary and Rolling Stone article that he and Bobby Kennedy collaborated on... all to show you how to steal back your vote! Please visit www.stealbackyourvote.org and arm yourself with all the info you need to make sure your vote counts!
I also tried one last time to get ultra conservative News Max columnist and former Congressman John LeBoutillier to cast his vote for Barack Obama.
Thanks again for the kind welcome and comments today. If today was the first time you heard my show and visited here, I hope this is the beginning of a beautiful relationship.
Thanks again to Thom and Air America for having me today, and thanks to you for listening!

You rocked today Nicole! Thanks for taking my call!
It is so important with less than 3 weeks to go that we progressives all nip these attacks on ACORN in the bud. It is little more than a cheap ploy to give them a rationalization for why they're going to lose; something besides their failed policies or tired and dirty politics.
I've been listening to Thom's show podcast (I can't receive the "terrestrial radio" signal where I live) and I'm very impressed with your knowledge and passion, Nicole. I hope Air America is listening to your conservative friend and it will provide you a daily opportunity to reach us. Great job, great radio voice (yes, it matters), great personality.
I just wrote you an email, Nicole, to say I enjoyed your show on Thom Hartmann's podcast for Friday. And then found my way here. I second what Utopia said -- I'd like to be able to find you on Air America also.
Why doesnt the liberal media ever mention the fact John McCain was in involved directly in the Iran-Contra scandal in the 80's.
Or the fact John McCain was invovled with the U.S. Council for World Freedom which was part of an international organization linked to former Nazi collaborators and ultra-right-wing death squads in Central America.
Or why dont they talk about the overt racism in his campaign.
Just food for thought
